ABOUT THE RESEARCH

Community voices at the center of healthcare research.

The AfricaLogical Institute, in partnership with Indiana University, is conducting a study on Medicaid experiences and healthcare access across underserved communities in Indiana. We believe that the people most affected by healthcare policy should be the ones informing it.

Community-Centered Research

Built around the lived experiences of Medicaid beneficiaries, not clinical assumptions.

Policy-Driven Impact

Findings are shared with state health departments and policymakers to create real change.

Safe for Vulnerable Storytelling

The portal is designed to protect your privacy, honor your story, and never expose your identity.

access, or community health matters. Share it as
written text, an audio recording, or a short video
— privately and safely.

Join the community conversation.

Attend a virtual or in-person Community Expert Gathering to share your perspective, ask questions about the research, and connect with others navigating the same challenges.

Amplify the research in your community.

Community organizations and advocates can access outreach materials, share participation links, and help spread awareness of the study to those who need their voices heard most.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Lived experience becomes lasting change.

Community voices are the most powerful data in healthcare research.
When people share what it’s really like to navigate Medicaid, find a doctor,
or afford their medication — policymakers listen differently.
